Benefiz-Kunstauktion Heartwork im K21

Am 12.12. findet am Cluster of Excellence der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin das Brown Bag Brunch mit einem Beitrag von Brigitta Coers, documenta Archiv Kassel, und Mischa Kuball statt.

Zur Genese des kollaborativen Projekts nolde/kritik/documenta initiiert von der Draiflessen Collection, der Nolde Stiftung, weiterentwickelt vom documenta Archiv Kassel, ergänzt vom Aby Warburg Institut - mit dem Konzeptkünstler Mischa Kuball und seinem Team, in Düsseldorf:
Das künstlerische Werk Emil Noldes hat sich nicht verändert, aber unser Blick darauf. Es sind ein Unbehagen und eine damit verbundene Unsicherheit entstanden. Mindestens eine geplante Nolde-Ausstellung wurde abgesagt. Ob es einen generellen Rückgang von Nolde-Projekten geben wird, kann erst die Zukunft zeigen. Gerade diesem Reflex wollte die Draiflessen Collection und das documenta Archiv nicht folgen. Vielmehr erschien es wichtig, den durch die angestossene Diskussion aufgeworfenen Fragen in Zusammenarbeit mit der Nolde Stiftung Seebüll weiter nachzugehen: Nach welchen Kriterien beurteilen wir Kunst? Wie prägt unser Wissen ihre Wahrnehmung? Wer war (und ist) an ihren Deutungen beteiligt?

On the occasion of World AIDS Day, the traditional charity art auction Heartwork of the Förderkreis der Aidshilfe Düsseldorf e.V. "Heartbreaker" will take place on December 11. The proceeds will be used to finance important Aidshilfe projects. All proceeds from the auction and event will be donated in full, including to the project "Women and Families with HIV" and the psychological counseling of the aid fund. Mischa Kuball is taking part in the auction this year with his work platon's mirror / king_king from 2022.
The preview of the artworks begins at 5 pm on the piazza of the former Ständehaus, the auction will take place at 8 pm. Admission is by invitation only and a donation will be made to Aidshilfe Düsseldorf.

Emil Nolde's artistic work has not changed, but our view of it has. An uneasiness and an associated uncertainty have arisen. At least one planned Nolde exhibition has been canceled. Only the future will tell whether there will be a general decline in Nolde projects. The Draiflessen Collection and the documenta archive did not want to follow this reflex. Rather, it seemed important to pursue the questions raised by the discussion in collaboration with the Nolde Foundation Seebüll: What criteria do we use to judge art? How does our knowledge shape its perception? Who was (and is) involved in its interpretation?
